Waterwise Awards

The Environment Agency and Waterwise UK Water Efficiency Awards 2012, supported by Bosch and Methven, is looking for the best, most creative and inspiring examples of water efficiency in the UK. Entry is free. Please visit http://www.waterwise.org.uk/pages/awards.html for entry details.

Entry was due to close on 30th June but has been extended for a few days. 

The search is on to recognise and celebrate the achievements of public, private and third sector organisations that ‘Shout’ about water efficiency, ‘Solve’ water demand management challenges and simply ‘Save’ water, in the following categories:

  • Built Environment, sponsored by Polypipe
  • Business and Industry, sponsored by Business Stream
  • Campaigns and Education, sponsored by Homebase
  • Community-led Initiative, sponsored by Defra and the Love Your River campaign
  • Environment Agency Chairman’s Award for a water company
  • Exemplar Project in Northern Ireland, backed by the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland
  • Exemplar Project Scotland, backed by Consumer Focus Scotland
  • Exemplar Project in Wales, backed by Welsh Government
  • Farming and Horticulture, sponsored by Kettle Chips
  • Innovation, sponsored by the Water Security Knowledge Exchange Partnership
  • Landscape and Gardening, sponsored by Hozelock
  • Research and Evaluation, sponsored by Ofwat

 

Winners and runners-up will be decided by a high-profile, expert panel of judges. The awards will be announced in September at a ceremony at the House of Lords, hosted by Rt Hon Lord Smith of Finsbury, Chairman of the Environment Agency, and Jacob Tompkins, Managing Director of Waterwise, with a keynote from Richard Benyon MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Defra.
