Ryan Haynes

The Federation has organised a workshop looking at the issue of room distribution and how to get the most revenue out of every room sale.

The prevalence of Online Travel Agents such as has meant that more and more of the income from customers is being shared with other companies. Rates may be holding but hotels are receiving less of this actual income every month.

Ryan Haynes is a Vice-President of the company behind RateTiger and knows a thing or two about distribution channels. He is the co-author of The Distribution Challenge, along with Horatiu Tudori of Lausanne Hotel School, which looked at how to optimise distributions channels to get the best return.

Ryan is a specialist in online hotel sales and digital marketing and was a regular producer and presenter on BBC Radio One. He has also appeared on TalkSport, Wired Radio and MTV Networks.

He will look at the current and future distribution of room sales, where the market is heading and how best to use each channel to your advantage. Distribution varies widely between different hotels but the general trend is fewer phone bookings, increasing OTAs, increasing online bookings and, for some, increasing GDS. The key is to ensure that revenue is not lost as this trend sweeps over your business.
