Co. L'Derry Pub of the Year 2007 The Anchor Bar in Portstewart has been crowned Co. Derry Pub of the Year.At a ceremony held in the Europa Hotel, nominees from Northern Ireland's finest pubs greatly anticipated receiving one of the industry accolades that recognise and reward excellence in Northern Ireland's pub trade.
On receiving the award on behalf of The Anchor, Danny Coyles said, 'I am delighted to have received this award which is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our staff and the loyalty of our customers. We pride ourselves on providing the public with outstanding service across the board.”
The Pub of the Year Awards are sponsored by Coca-Cola and the publicans' trade magazine LCN. The awards were hosted by UTV's Pamela Ballentine and speeches were made on the night from the Federations Chairman, Stephen Reynolds and Paddy Murney, Coca-Cola Licensed Trade Business Unit Manager, Coca-Cola who both congratulated all the winners.
The finalists have been chosen from over 100 entries. Each entry was visited by independent mystery shoppers with the winners being chosen by a judging panel comprising of Nigel Tilson, Business Editor of the Belfast Telegraph, Adrienne McGill, Business Editor of the News Letter and Gary McDonald, Business Editor of the Irish News
