The National Living Wage is set to rise on 1st April 2024 to £11.44 for everyone over 21. The 2024 increase was above the range indicated in communications from the LPC and the current projections for 2025 are £11.89 as a median with a range of between £11.61 – £12.18. The LPC will consult regionally again in 2024/25 to give their recommendations.

The Low Pay Commission (LPC) published two reports yesterday with additional details:
a short report marking the imminent increases in the NMW and NLW, and projecting the NLW rate for April 2025.
our advice to the Government on the future of the National Minimum Wage (NMW). This report weighs up the progress of the minimum wage to date and sets out the Commissioners’ views on the future of the rate. This report was first submitted to the Government last December.
The Federation will continue to lobby for a realistic wage and a recognition of the different requirements for the Northern Ireland labour market.
